Bio:

Montana Young is a re-emerging singer, songwriter, and violinist/fiddler nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia. Her journey began at age 5 when she saw a young teen girl playing fiddle at a fiddler’s convention. The crowd went wild, Montana stood up out of her seat, and with hands on hips, she said, “I want to do that.” Several months later, she began with classical training in Roanoke, VA under Jane Wang. She began playing with the Roanoke Junior Strings Symphony, as well as traditional Bluegrass and Oldtime styles. During childhood, Montana toured Scotland, Canada, and much of the East Coast performing. She was in countless competitions and took home many awards. Montana also played for Congressional events and in varying festivals. One of her favorite accomplishments was playing for the Queen of England when she visited the United States in 2007. Montana stopped playing at 20 years old and fell silent with music altogether for about 12 years, until now.

Montana is back and ready to share her creativity. She has excitedly started to delve into songwriting and recording her own sound. She’s teeming with ideas after coming back into music and there’s more to come.
